The Sunday Assembly is 100% a celebration of life. The motto: live better, help often and wonder more. Everyone is welcome, regardless of one’s religious beliefs or lack thereof.
Following this month’s theme of gratitude, the hour long Assembly combines engaging talks with community speakers, live band sing-a-longs to contemporary tunes (the ones you sing to in the shower), and time to bond over food and drink at the illustrious Connolly’s Pub in mid-town.

Faisal Saeed Al-Mutar is an Iraqi born writer and activist currently living in the United States. He is an advocate for freedom of thought, science, reason and the free market economy. The founder of the Global Secular Humanist Movement and Secular Post, he has written many different publications including National Post, Big Think, Richard Dawkins Foundation, Secular World and many others.
Sunday Assembly NYC’s very own Justina Walford is the second speaker. She is the owner of Bare Naked Bake Sale, a group of fundraisers who add a little sass to charity events. She is also working on a book, Born to Be Bad in a Good Way, about being a good person in an unwieldy moral landscape.
And to lead us all through the Assembly, our host is Erik Campano. Erik is former New York local host of National Public Radio’s All Things Considered and is currently studying to become a doctor specializing in global health, particularly in the developing world.
